In an effort to promote a brighter corporate image, Wal-Mart, the nation’s No. 1 retailer, recently announced plans to double its spending to $5 billion annually with women-owned businesses in the United States by 2016. It also plans to help train and educate women, as well as to increase sourcing from women-owned businesses, including construction firms, farms and manufacturers.
This unprecedented commitment aims to make a major mark on women’s economic empowerment. Plus, as the article says, it could also be a “game changer” for women-owned enterprises — not only because Wal-Mart is committing to these goals, but because many other industries and companies will likely be following in their footsteps too.
Bottom line? There’s never been a better time to get in the real B2B market and land contracts with Big Business!
